Romain Grosjean was disappointed that Alexander Albon caused so much damage to his car during the Hungarian Grand Prix that winning the first World Championship points of the season was no longer an option. The 34-year old driver dropped through the field quickly after the touché.

"It was a good move by the team. I had radioed and said it was too dry for the inters, so we took the gamble. The first few laps were a bit hairy but after that things worked really well. The pace was good," Grosjean said right after the Hungarian Grand Prix. The Frenchman didn't know then that he would get a time penalty of ten seconds.

The stewards decided that Haas F1 had been found guilty of using electronic aids during the formation lap. In the regulations of Formula 1 it can be read that this is forbidden. It didn't matter much to Grosjean, because he didn't finish in the points anyway.

Grosjean not happy with passing RB16

According to him that had everything to do with Red Bull Racing driver Albon. "Albon had quite a late move on me at turn one, he hit my front wing and damaged it. I had much less performance in the car after that. We tried but things went out of sync after that, we just couldn’t stay in the points," Grosjean concluded in the review of his team.
