Anyone who thinks that the second race at Silverstone might end up like the Steiermark GP may be wrong, as the temperature and tyre strategy will be different. According to Alexander Albon Red Bull Racing has an advantage there.
No tire problems for Red Bull
Albon looks ahead to the second GP at Silverstone. In the Red Bull preview he says: "The cars are going so fast these days and have so much downforce that some corners aren't even corners anymore. That's just crazy."
The talk of the weekend will be the custom tyre choice for the second race: "I'm sure we'll have to try things out with the strategy," Albon continued. "It's going to be difficult I think. I'm not sure if the change in tyre compounds will suit us, but I probably it will. We are one of the few teasms that don't have tire problems".
Double advantage because of Honda
In addition to the other tyres, the higher temperatures will also affect the upcoming race. Albon: "We are good for our tyres and Honda is good at handling heat and is good at cooling the power unit. So I think we will have a strong package for Sunday.
"Saturday we will have to be a bit stronger and then we can definitely have a strong performance this weekend. With the higher temperatures Mercedes are more vulnerable and they might be within reach. Hopefully we'll meet halfway," concluded a hopeful Albon.
