Vettel explains difference with teammate: "We're driving in the midfield"
- GPblog.com
It will take some getting used to not seeing Sebastian Vettel walking through Ferrari's paddock after this season. After the first four races Vettel has picked up very few points and it seems to be a very painful farewell (to Ferrari).
Where teammate Charles Leclerc managed to get two more podiums, Vettel will be a lot less easy. Last weekend he finished narrowly in the points, due to a blowout from Valtteri Bottas. The difference in performance seems difficult to explain, but Vettel seems to know: "I haven't had the smoothest weekend. We drive in midfield, and depending on how your weekend (qualifying and practice) goes, it will have a direct impact on your race", he said to speedweek.com
Rumors under the spell?
The rumours of a possible switch from Vettel to Racing Point have of course eluded few Formula 1 fans. Vettel had some things to say about that: "Otmar (Szafnauer) was always talking about buying a Ferrari Pista, a great car, I just wanted to take a look at the car". Vettel also refers to another fact: "There is nothing new about my future". Is Vettel playing a game here? Or is he sincere? If he still wants to have a chance to win an F1 seat next year, he will in any case have to make a quick decision.
