Red Bull junior Juri Vips will travel to Japan last minute in an attempt to participate in the start of the Super Formula season. There is a good chance that the twenty year old driver from Estonia will not be admitted to the country.
Vips to Japan
In Japan, travellers from more than 140 countries are currently banned because of the coronavirus. Vips, the Red Bull-junior, nevertheless tries to enter the country and travels to the East.
In conversation with Motorsport.com Marko Asmer, racing driver and compatriot, spokesman for Vips, tells his story: "Juri will fly to Japan on Wednesday and will arrive there on Thursday morning. I don't know yet if he will be admitted, but at least we did everything we could".
Little chance that Vips will make it to Motegi
Asmer continues: "We have papers from the Estonian government asking for an exception. I would like to thank them very much for that, everyone has helped us very well. They also did everything they could so it is now entirely up to Japan".
"We didn't give up. We're still trying to get him to Motegi on time. But I don't think it's gonna work."
