Hamilton compared to Senna: "I felt like a horse with blinders on"
Lewis Hamilton made an impression on Sunday during the Spanish Grand Prix. The Brit could not be kept up with and seemed completely in his element again. He avoids comparison with Ayrton Senna, although he felt completely at one with his car.
While some might think a win like this is easy for Hamilton, they are wrong. The British driver had to work hard to get this victory and he tries to explain that during the press conference. "I think the drivers next to me (Valtteri Bottas and Max Verstappen) can also tell you that there are different types of races. In the lead you also have to finish it and you want to drive the race perfectly," said the Brit.
Does Hamilton look like Senna?
Hamilton did not even realise after the race that he was finished. "I didn't even realise I was on the last lap. You then feel just like such a horse with blinders on. I just kept going and personally it feels like one of my best weekends ever, "says Hamilton, who is then compared to Senna, who once described that feeling as the ideal zone for a driver.
"No, I wouldn't say it was something or describe it as Ayrton, but there is a lot of pressure on us to perform at the weekend and you strive for perfection every weekend and in that zone you get very close near. However, I don't know how to describe that feeling or how I get into it at all, "Hamilton concludes after the Spanish GP.
