Max Verstappen has Dutch nationality but, in his younger years, he lived mostly across the border in Belgium. The 22-year-old driver does not want to express a preference for either country.

When asked whether Verstappen wouldn't rather have participated in a team sport, he answers: "I used to play football. I had no talent for that, that became clear to me at the time. What's more, I like to be in control of the match in my own hands".

Verstappen doesn't listen to music by default

The Red Bull Racing driver goes on to explain to Quote that unlike many other drivers in Formula 1, he doesn't put his headphones on his head by default. "Just before a race, I don't necessarily have to listen to music to recharge my batteries. I'm always ready to go", said Verstappen, who doesn't necessarily have a strong preference for a genre. "That could be anything; it's a bit up to the week or the day."

The nine-time Grand Prix winner doesn't want to talk about his weakness "I don't know. And if I knew that, I wouldn't tell you", he says with a wink. Verstappen doesn't want to answer the thesis 'The Netherlanders or Belgium' either. "Then I'll get into trouble with either my mother or my father."
