OFFICIAL: China Grand Prix not on Formula 1 calendar in 2020

Even though it still was considered that the Chinese Grand Prix would remain on the 2020 F1 calendar,  Formula 1 has now officially announced it. The Grands Prix of China will not appear on this years Formula 1 calendar.

China to 2021

Due to the coronavirus, the Chinese Grand Prix was the first race in 2020 to be postponed. Not much later, the entire Formula 1 season would be overturned by COVID-19. For a long time, it was unclear whether the Shanghai race would continue at all, but F1 has just announced that the race will not be held in 2020.

The Formula 1 calendar is taking shape throughout the season. In the meantime, there have been six races in the season, but the calendar hasn't been filled yet. Earlier today it was already announced that Formula 1 will return to Turkey and as expected there will be two races in Bahrain and one race in Abu Dhabi. As a result, the total calendar now stands at 17 races.
