Minardi: "At Ferrari there has almost always been a charismatic leader"

Giancarlo Minardi thinks Ferrari lacks a charismatic leader. The team has been lagging behind throughout the season and Minardi hopes that Ferrari will soon find its way back up the ranks.
AlphaTauri is doing well
"I get a bittersweet feeling when I see the cars of my former team starting for Ferrari", Minardi refers to the AlphaTauris against Formulapassion. "I am happy for my friends from Faenza. They work well with the money from the Red Bull Racing facility."
Problems at Ferrari
For Ferrari, Minardi is less happy. "From the outside, I can see that the cause of the crisis can't just be the engine. It is clear that the chassis and aerodynamics are not compensating for the lack of horsepower", continues Minardi.
"Red Bull Racing doesn't have a Mercedes engine either, but still keeps a reasonable track of them. They know in Maranello that they have to take off the legendary red shirt. In such a situation, the past doesn't matter anymore. We have to think from today's reality, which is very painful", said the former team owner.
"At Ferrari, there has almost always been a charismatic leader", says Minardi. He points to the fact that many good technicians have left Maranello to work somewhere else. Many of them now work at Mercedes. "I refuse to believe that more than a thousand people, who are part of the racing department, are not able to design a better car than the one we see now", concludes Minardi.
