Lammers: "I think he drove really bad yesterday"

According to Jan Lammers, Alexander Albon is lucky with his position at Red Bull Racing. The former Formula 1 driver thinks that Red Bull have learned from mistakes made by the team in previous years.
Gasly is doing great
Last season Albon suddenly got the chance to replace the disappointing Pierre Gasly at Red Bull. Gasly was, in turn, returned to AlphaTauri, then called Toro Rosso. Since that return, Gasly has been driving great with an unexpected win at Monza as the icing on the cake.
Red Bull has learned
Lammers is not pleased with Albon's performance this season. "I think Albon drove really bad yesterday. He really just did it wrong. But of course, we are talking about two things about Red Bull and those changes", said Lammers in the NOS Formula 1 podcast.
"Look, Red Bull has also learned that when they give a driver a chance a little longer, as in the case of Gasly, they don't have to make that decision so quickly. So maybe Albon has the advantage that Red Bull has learned from the situation with Gasly and now they don't want to make the same mistake again and give Albon the opportunity a little longer. Something that maybe they should have done at Gasly as well", concludes Lammers.
