Alonso points to Ferrari: ''We both didn't have the right car''

Sebastian Vettel will leave Ferrari at the end of 2020 without having won a world title. It is the goal of every driver who joins Ferrari, but according to Fernando Alonso, Vettel had bad luck just like himself.
In 2015 it was Vettel who took Alonso's place at Ferrari. The Spaniard has finished but wants something different after five seasons. Alonso had chosen the McLaren-Honda project, but did not celebrate success there either. Meanwhile, Vettel got the chance at Ferrari, but, like Alonso, did not manage to win a world title with the Italian team.
Alonso supports Vettel
''We all come to Ferrari with high expectations. It is the legendary team in Formula 1 and that makes it very special to drive for. Even though I didn't win a title with them, the experience was very positive. Vettel will also keep good memories of the team, but we both didn't have the right car at the right time,'' says Alonso to Sport Bild.
''If you sign for Ferrari you assume you can win the world title. After four world titles Vettel probably thought he could win another one with Ferrari, but sometimes you just don't have any luck. That's why I didn't focus on Formula 1 for a while and started driving the 24 Hours of Le Mans. I tried to win everything there was to win,'' concludes the double world champion.
