Ferrari has not had a good season. The team is driving around in midfield and the team has not had a chance to win this season. The weekend in Russia went a little better after improved balance and new upgrades. Also in Eifel updates are expected on the SF1000.

Step forward in Russia

Ferrari was finally able to fight again for a number of good points in Russia, in which Charles Leclerc secured a sixth position for the team. Sebastian Vettel helped by stopping the Renaults of Daniel Ricciardo and Esteban Ocon before making a pit stop.

"Both Leclerc and Team Principal Mattia Binotto downplayed the impact of the new parts in Sochi, saying that result was more down to an improved car balance," said F1 journalist Chris Medland on the official Formula 1 site.

Third among the manufacturers

The new upgrades expected at the Eifel Grand Prix should give more performance. "This season hasn’t been the smoothest for Ferrari by any stretch but if they can start making progress with the car development they still have enough races to pull themselves into the fight for third in the constructors’ championship," concludes Medland.
