Former Formula 1 driver David Coulthard is looking forward to the Portuguese Grand Prix, calling the circuit a 'fantastic rollercoaster', and thinks the drivers will enjoy driving there.

Challenging track

Many of the drivers have already indicated that they are looking forward to the Portuguese Grand Prix. Former F1 driver David Coulthard, now reporter and commentator in the paddock, is also looking forward to the race. "It's a fantastic track with height differences. You have to have guts and attack. Max Verstappen, Lewis Hamilton and everyone else will enjoy it," said Coulthard at the official presentation of the next Grand Prix.

At the Eifel Grand Prix Lewis Hamilton equalled the record of most victories in F1, going level with seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher. The race in Portugal gives Hamilton an opportunity to win in yet another country and to take the outright lead of the record.

Schumacher and Hamilton

"Michael has achieved a lot, it was incredible. I did my best to beat him. He's a real professional, just like Lewis today. Many drivers think that only what happens on the track counts, but it's much more than that."

Coulthard was still driving for McLaren when Lewis Hamilton joined the team. He remembers an interview with Hamilton, who said he would take his place at the time. "But he has achieved much more than that. It's exceptional," said Coulthard.
