Return to Imola
It is the first time since 2006 that Formula 1 has visited the Imola circuit, then known on the calendar as the San Marino Grand Prix. Only one of the current Formula 1 drivers was there at the time: Kimi Raikkonen. He finished the race in fifth, a result that he will probably be very pleased with on Sunday if he manages to repeat it. The last winner at Imola was Michael Schumacher in his final year racing for Ferrari. Between 1980 and 2006, Imola held 27 F1 races with 1994 marking one F1's darkest weekends. That year Roland Ratzenberger and Ayrton Senna were sadly killed on the track.
Just one practice
The 90-minute free practice on Saturday is the only practice the drivers will receive this weekend. The teams will therefore have to quickly find the right setup for qualifying. In any case, the weather will help a bit, the temperature is expected to be sixteen degrees and mostly sunny. The chance of rain is minimal.
