Pirelli gives Verstappen good odds for a victory

Getting pole position is one thing, but winning the Grand Prix is another. Still, Pirelli sees opportunities for Max Verstappen to cash in on his pole position and take his second win of the season.
We all know that a pole position is no guarantee of victory. Anything can happen during a race, as became clear last week at the Sakhir Grand Prix.
However, Pirelli gives Max Verstappen good odds for a victory tomorrow. "Qualifying is always an important part of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. More than half of the races here have been won from pole," said Mario Isola in Pirelli's qualifying review.
Exciting start to the race
According to Isola it can only be an exciting race, also because of the tyres. "The medium tyre is an interesting compound to start the race on, with five drivers in the top ten starting on that tyre."
"We have seen less improvement in lap times compared to last year, perhaps also due to the absence of F2 and F3 races, which means less rubber on the track. With the top three all starting on the medium tyres and some very fast cars behind on the soft tires, it could be a tactically interesting race. Especially at the start," concluded the Italian.
