Norris on Sainz: "I am going to miss him"
Lando Norris helped secure McLaren third-place position in the Constructors' Championship with a P5 finish in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The young British driver has recorded a strong season in 2020 which started with a podium in Austria.
"Wasn't looking to hopefully today. And knowing the pace of Sergio and the Racing Point but we were hopeful. The step from P4 to 3 [in the World Championship] is good," Norris tells Sky Sports after the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
Changing teammates
With Carlos Sainz taking up the Ferrari seat next year, Daniel Ricciardo will come into the McLaren. Zak Brown believes he has the most exciting driver line-up on the grid. But reflecting on the 2020 season, Norris explains what he thinks made the current partnership so strong.
"I think that was one of the most important things in achieving P3 is being mates and the way that we want to beat each other. We scored much better results. I respect Carlos and he respects me and we want to do the best for the team. I am going to miss him," Norris added.
