Horner will study data to "come to the right conclusion" about Albon
For Alexander Albon, the race in Abu Dhabi was his last chance to prove that he belongs in the second seat of Red Bull Racing. In defence of his position, Albon may have had his best weekend of the season, but Christian Horner is careful when asked if that was his last race.
“Obviously, we have a huge amount of data now. We have all the knowledge across the various circuits that we have done. We’ll sit down, go through that and come to the right conclusion," Horner said in Red Bull's press conference.
Albon must be able to play a role in strategy
Does Albon always have to perform as he did today? “It’s certainly what we were expecting to see because the only way in which you can put Mercedes under pressure if for example, they split the strategy. Then we could’ve been very exposed. Certainly in the end of the race, Alex was able to close on them," he added.
“He lost a bit of ground at the beginning of the stint after the safety car. I think Alex had a good race and a solid weekend.”
