Stefano Domanicali has a successor in the FIA. Former team boss of Force India, Bob Fernley, will be head of the FIA Single-Seater Commission, returning to Formula 1.

Successor to Domenicali found

Bob Fernley is no stranger to F1. Fernley started working in F1 in the 80's and got the leadership of Force India, which was bought by his friend Vijay Mallya. When the team went bankrupt in 2018 and it was bought by Lawrence Stroll and his associates, Fernley was the first to leave.

At McLaren, Fernley still had the opportunity to work on the IndyCar project withFernando Alonso, but when the Spaniard failed to qualify, that adventure was quickly over. As head of the FIA Single-Seater Commission, Fernley will take over from Stefano Domenicali, who will take the role as CEO of Formula 1.
