'Verstappen will underline: there is no better defensive driver than Perez'

With the arrival of Sergio Perez at Red Bull next season, many Formula 1 experts are already enjoying making comparisons between the Mexican driver and his future teammate Max Verstappen. Peter Windsor is also doing his bit, arguing why Perez is the right man on the grid when it comes to defense.
"I think Max Verstappen will underline this," Windsor begins in an analysis on his Youtube channel, "There is not a better driver on the grid on the matter of defense. He’s got somebody in his mirrors, maybe with a better car, maybe with better grip, Sergio Perez is still the most difficult guy in the world to overtake. Not because he does anything aggressive in defenses, just that he places the car beautifully.”
In addition, Windsor mentions Perez's strength as his ability to reach and maintain a strong rhythm during the race. Windsor explains: "Sergio, in defense, is absolutely immaculate. And he had this ability, and this is part of being a great defense driver to just get into a rhythm and reproduce those lap times in a fabulous way.”
All in all, it is clear that Windsor is a fan of the Mexican.
GP of Turkey
As an example of both the strength of Perez and the battle that will break out next year between the future teammates, Windsor mentions the GP of Turkey, which was held in November this year and where Verstappen was chasing Perez for several laps.
"Max was just sitting there waiting for Sergio’s tyres to really go off so he could have a go at him," said Windsor. Perez managed to secure a second place at the Turkish GP, giving another display of his racing talents.
