Norris sees improvement in himself: "That pays off in better results"

Lando Norris drove its second F1 season in 2020. In 2019, everything was about getting used to the car and learning it, but last year Norris really started to improve. The Brit, driving for McLaren, explains in an interview with Formula1.com that he finds it difficult to really identify an area for improvement after 2020.
"The race is one of the points I worked on the most last winter because I realised it was one of my weaker points. I really put an enormous amount of time into it, to go through all the details as well. There are a lot of things that can happen in a race, it's not just a few things," Norris said.
Learning from mistakes
In the first race of 2020, Norris took his first podium, but during the season he was unable to hold on to that tremendously good form. In the end, he did finish in the top ten, just behind Charles Leclerc. Reflecting on 2020 Norris says: "I can say with confidence that this year went a lot better.
"I was able to get more out of the car, which made me more comfortable. I was, of course, fourth in Bahrain in 2019, but that could not have gone on very easily either. I could have crashed at the start and therefore been switched off early on. I make better decisions and that pays off in better results," concludes Norris.
