Jos Verstappen sees opportunities: 'These changes are significant'

Max Verstappen won the last race of 2020 and that gives hope for 2021. However, according to Jos Verstappen, Red Bull Racing will still have to take a step to actually compete for the world title in 2021.
In 2020 Mercedes was clearly the strongest team, but during the season Red Bull Racing came closer and closer. It was a great reward for the team to win the last race of the season. The expectations for 2021 are high again, but Jos knows that the team still has a long way to go.
Red Bull Racing is not there yet
''It's nice to win the last race of the season, but it's even better to win the first of the new season. However, it is nice to win that last race of the year, because it gives the whole team a boost of motivation. Still, it is more important to have a car from the first race next season that can be used to fight for the victories, because we missed that this season,'' says Verstappen to Autosport.com.
Verstappen sees opportunities to close the gap to Mercedes in 2021. ''The changes to the regulations for 2021 are still significant because the rest of the car will have to connect to the ground. It's mainly about the aerodynamics, so hopefully we'll have a good time this year and Honda will bring some extra. In that case we will look better than before,'' concludes Max Verstappen's father.
