McLaren takes matters into thier own hands and have converted a large part of its Technology Centre into a vaccination zone. The F1 team wants to contribute to the fight against COVID-19.

McLaren still ailing

McLaren was hit hard economically by the effects of the coronavirus. To keep their heads above water, the team already came up with various plans to raise money in the spring of 2020. They came up with a plan to sell and lease back the striking McLaren Technology Centre, which also serves as their headquarters.

The team applied for state subsidies of £150 million, but this application was rejected. Applying for a mortgage of 200 million pounds was the next plan. Even then, generous donations from lenders were still needed to keep their heads above water.

McLaren takes matters into its own hands

In order to combat the virus and make the period of economic downfall as short as possible, McLaren is now actively helping to combat the coronavirus. For example, Autobahn reports that McLaren has set up part of their huge complex to administer vaccinations.

This doesn't help them overcome their financial problems, but they help with the situation in their area and it's a nice gesture, after all. Maybe this will help them get some financial government support.
