New Alpine livery met with plenty of opposition
- GPblog.com
The new Alpine F1 Team has presented their new livery. This is not the official car for 2021, but many features will remain the same. Not everyone likes the new Alpine design.
In 2021, Renault will no longer be competing in Formula 1, and Alpine will take over. Alpine is the brand for the highest segment that Renault as a brand focuses on, and that brand may also profile itself in Formula 1. Of course a new livery goes with that and it was presented on Thursday morning.
Much criticism on new livery
The so-called winter livery can not count on much support, however. Of course the drivers were very enthusiastic, but many Formula 1 followers do not like it. After all, it is the black Renault, with only the accents of a French flag. Fans of the team expected more, especially with the return of Fernando Alonso.
The Mild Seven blue of 2005 and 2006 will not return, but Will Buxton for example let it be known that he hopes Alpine will come up with something better at the start of the season. Erik van Haren is also happy that the livery will change and Joe Saward calls the livery "rubbish". Alpine will have to come up with something better to convince the crowd.
What a rubbish livery. I hope that it isn’t real...

When I think Alpine, I think of that beautiful metallic sky blue of the A110.

When I think Fernando, I think of that sky blue Mild Seven livery with the yellow flashes.
Black ain’t it.
Hoping the real livery has a bit more blue and a bit less meh. pic.twitter.com/MdcPlVBAKe

Eerste beelden van de A521 van Alpine. Kleuren gaan (gelukkig) nog veranderen. Volgende maand de echte presentatie. #F1 https://t.co/jNplK4kCKJ
