Ferrari have reacted to Charles Leclerc's positive coronavirus test through their official channels. The Italian racing team announced that the young Monegasque immediately informed everyone of his positive test.

Leclerc tested positive on Wednesday. "Scuderia Ferrari Mission Winnow driver Charles Leclerc has tested positive for COVID-19. In accordance with the team's protocols, Charles is tested regularly and yesterday, the result from his latest test came back positive," read today's press statement.

Mattia Binotto's team continued in the statement: "Charles notified us immediately and has informed everyone he has been in close contact with in the last few days.
He is currently feeling ok with mild symptoms and is now self-isolating at home in Monaco."

Leclerc visited Dubai

Like Lewis Hamilton (in early December) and Lando Norris (in early January), Leclerc was in Dubai a few days before his positive test. It is quite likely that the Monegasque was infected there.

Leclerc will not be allowed to leave his home for the next ten days. Whether this will have an impact on Ferrari's preparations for the 2021 season is not yet clear.
