Although Romain Grosjean has not yet officially hung up his helmet, he has thrown himself wholeheartedly into sim racing. With his own R8G Sim Racing team, he is trying to help young talent as team manager.

Spotting talent

Grosjean has always been interested in sim racing, but since last year he has taken it seriously by setting up his own team. With this, he also wants to spot young talent that could possibly make the switch to motorsport. "In motor sport, the budgets have become so big, even in karting, that it is almost impossible to find young talent," the Frenchman told Ouest France.

Grosjean enjoys taking on the role of talent scout. "I discovered myself in it. And to have myself leading the team, working with young talent, is very interesting." Moreover, Grosjean also thinks this approach has a chance of success. "Within my team I clearly have drivers who could go fast in a real car. The proof is that I have one of my drivers at R8G who does the Feed Series (the driving school of Jacques Villeneuve and Patrick Lemarié)."

Great community

Where Grosjean can be found a lot these days is Twitch. The streaming platform is a very nice place according to Grosjean. "It's great. There's a lot of excitement. Even established streamers have welcomed me. We have very different communities, and when we meet and do things together, we have a great time. The communities are benevolent, friendly. We don't have too many problems in that respect. It's super nice."
