Lewis Hamilton has renewed his contract with Mercedes for 2021 and that, according to Peter Windsor, is good news for Formula One, but also for the world. Hamilton has become more than just a Formula One driver in recent years.

Hamilton and Mercedes announced on Monday that the seven-time world champion would also race for the German team in 2021. There were many rumours about the possible arrival of George Russell and the difficult negotiations, but finally, the two parties came up with the good news.

Hamilton re-signing good news for the whole world

''This is good news for Formula 1, for motorsport and probably the whole world. No real surprise. Of course, it was just a question about money. And the money isn't anybody's business, except Hamilton's and Mercedes. Whatever Lewis gets, it'll be the market value and whatever Mercedes are paying him they'll get more back," Windsor said in his video.

The former Williams team manager did not join in the speculation, blindly assuming Hamilton would re-sign. ''The eighth title is up for grabs. Don't expect massive changes because of the new rules, so Lewis has a great chance to win his eighth title," concludes Windsor.
