Next season Formula 1 gets three rookies; Yuki Tsunoda, Nikita Mazepin and Mick Schumacher. Mick Schumacher is the son of seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher, and eyes are on him.

Climbing the Formula ladder

Mick Schumacher is climbing the Formula ladder exactly as the FIA intends. Two years of German Formula 4, two years of European Formula 3 and two years of Formula 2. The second season invariably ended with the winning of the championship.

Franz Tost, as part of Willi Weber's management team, was involved with the Schumacher family at an early stage and was already impressed by the young Schumacher during the first karting sessions. "Mick is not the type of driver who gets into a car and immediately puts everything on the line," the AlphaTauri team boss told Auto Motor und Sport. "He takes it step by step and makes sure he has everything under control, so that he can then really shoot out of the starting blocks."

Making it in Formula 1

"It often happens with young drivers that they get into a Formula One car and don't know what's going to happen to them. Mick is a driver who watches everything first and then keeps learning. There are others who are insanely fast but don't know why," Tost continued enthusiastically.

Tost therefore thinks that Schumacher will do very well in Formula 1. "The most important thing is to take one step at a time and always remember what you have learned. Mick does that really well. That is why I am convinced he will make it in Formula 1."
