Tsunoda takes the points, but Gasly remains 'key reference point'

Pierre Gasly was designated as AlphaTauri's front-runner ahead of the 2021 Formula One season, but his experience still let him down at the Bahrain Grand Prix. Yuki Tsunoda took the points, but Gasly is still very important to AlphaTauri.
As Red Bull's junior team, AlphaTauri, formerly known as Toro Rosso, has spent years training talents. In 2021, however, it will have an experienced man behind the wheel with Gasly, who has spent even six months in the car at Red Bull Racing. His experience at AlphaTauri will stand him in good stead this year.
Gasly remains the benchmark
''This year's car is very similar to last year's car. This year's is an evolution of last year's. Pierre and his guys know exactly how that car did and so he can also help Yuki if he has problems with something,'' said Joey Egginton according to Motorsport-total.com.
''Most teams drive with two experienced drivers, so for them it's a different scenario. It's good for us though. Pierre is a solid reference compared to last year. He can tell us in detail what is different about the car. So we know what's better and what's worse than last year,'' said the AlphaTauri Technical Director.
