OFFICIAL: F1 reaches agreement with Miami on Hard Rock Stadium race
- GPblog.com
The confirmation is finally there, Formula 1 will travel to Miami from 2022. After years of negotiations, both parties have come to an agreement and from 2022 onwards the F1 cars will race through the streets of Miami. For a long time there were setbacks from residents, but the decision was finally approved to host an F1 race.
The circuit will consist of nineteen corners, with three straights and three corresponding DRS zones. The expected top speed is 320 km / h and the Hard Rock Stadium will be the center of the circuit. The pit lane will run in front of the stadium. An agreement has been signed between F1 and Miami for ten years.
Will Austin stay on the calendar?
With the arrival of Miami also comes the question of whether there will then be room for the Circuit Of The Americas, in Austin. That contract expires in 2022 and negotiations are ongoing. For now, the F1 paddock can at least look forward to a new street circuit, located in sunny Miami.
