Norris is particularly happy: "Nice to be competing with these guys"

For a while it looked like Lando Norris would finish second behind his good friend Max Verstappen, but a few laps before the end he was overtaken by Lewis Hamilton . Still, the young Briton can be happy with this result and his election as Driver of the Day.
Nice recovery after qualifying
After the race, Norris was mostly happy with third place and not disappointed with missing out on second place. "Yeah, I think I'm happy," he told Sky Sports commentator Martin Brundle at the interviews. "It was a nice recovery after yesterday. I'm happy with third place, I'm not disappointed."
The start of the race didn't go entirely to plan for Norris. "I didn't start very well, but I was able to come back and had a good pace. It's nice to compete with these guys and be there on our own merit and speed. Hopefully we can have more battles like this in the future."
Restart on softs
On the restart, Norris is one of the few drivers on the soft tyre. "The first few laps I had a good pace, but I knew I was going to struggle towards the end. Especially with Lewis behind me it wasn't going to be easy. I held on for two, three, four laps, but at the end I couldn't hold on." His strong performance today also ensured that fans voted him Driver of the Day. "Really," Norris responded. "I didn't think I had any fans."
