Internet reacts to Verstappen's deleted lap time: "Was a dumb decision"
- GPblog.com
Max Verstappen could have secured his second pole position of the year, but the Red Bull Racing driver was unable to celebrate due to exceeding the track limits and not being fast enough in his second run. Opinions on the strict enforcement of the rules by the race committee are divided on the internet. See below how people on social media reacted to the fact that Verstappen's time was taken away.

People wanted track limits when Hamilton was using them legally, now it's Verstappen a blind eye should be turned? Neh.

verstappen v. hamilton again proving that experience might just make the difference in this title fight. a potential pole position slips through max verstappen’s grasp due to track limits. he’ll have checo as a rear gunner tomorrow though, so all is not lost

Verstappen with the second mistake in a row in qualifying. Was faster (the turn 4 track limits costed time, he still managed to get on 1:18.2) but on the end of the day he’s only 3rd #PortugueseGP

Track limits are not quite working out for Max at the moment. We sincerely apologise to all those concerned. #F1 #PortugueseGP pic.twitter.com/0OpcqZP7hN

Deleting that lap from Verstappen was a dumb decision. Yeah, he exceeded track limits, but lost time doing because he was countersteering to avoid spinning.
