Hamilton willing to lower salary, but has other conditions

Lewis Hamilton only signed for one season earlier this year and so the seven times world champion has to renegotiate with Mercedes about an extension. Both Mercedes and Hamilton have already indicated that they want to continue their relationship, but will an agreement be reached?
Sign a new contract quickly
Recently Hamilton said he wanted to start negotiations quickly, especially since the previous negotiations ruined his whole winter according to the Brit. Those negotiations seem to be in full swing now and team boss Toto Wolff also wants to have the contract signed before the summer.
According to the Spanish branch of Motorsport.com Hamilton would even be willing to accept a pay cut, something that previously did not seem like an option. The number two in the current world championship would then offer other conditions in return. The bonuses for the title would be doubled. It would be a contract until the end of 2022 with an option for a one-year extension.
Fighter for more diversity
In addition to the financial demands, Hamilton is also said to have asked for a future role for him in the structure of Daimler [Mercedes' parent company], with the aim of continuing his work as a fighter for more diversity in Formula One. Hamilton has been driving for Mercedes since 2013 and won the world title six times for the team between 2014 and 2020.
