Sergio Perez took his first win for Red Bull Racing on Sunday, playing an important role for his team. The Mexican is proud, but also knows there is still a long way to go.

Red Bull Racing has been looking for a driver to sit alongside Max Verstappen since the departure of Daniel Ricciardo, and Sergio Perez seems to have found one. The Mexican needed a few races to settle in, but with a strong race in Monaco and a win in Azerbaijan, he should now have the confidence to play a good role for Red Bull.

Perez confident

''I am very proud. This win also shows what work we have done since January, and shows that hard work always pays off. This is a big boost for the team, that we now know we can compete with two cars. We just want to win this championship,'' Perez said in a video from Red Bull.

''I have to keep improving, because I'm still not there. It's only race six though, so it doesn't matter where we are now. We just need to keep getting points and getting the most out of our car. So much can still happen," concluded Perez.
