Horner not looking to 2022: 'If you can take the title, you have to go for it'
Red Bull Racing are leading the World Championship this year. Christian Horner does say that the team is looking at 2022, but for now the title is their main target.
These are always difficult times in Formula 1 when new regulations are on the horizon. In 2022 the F1 teams will have to make completely new cars, while the 2021 season is still in full swing. While some teams are already fully focused on 2022, Red Bull and Mercedes are still in the title race.
Red Bull in pursuit of the title
''This is nothing new. I mean, there's a lot of fuss about this at the moment, but we've had major rule changes in the past. It's just a question of finding the right balance and seeing what is the most important thing at the moment. The team is working incredibly hard at the moment and it's working extremely well and efficiently'', Horner told Motorsport.com.
Red Bull's team boss stresses, however, that the team will not let this opportunity slip away. ''I do think: if you have a chance to go for the championship, then you have to go for it. That seems logical to me. Once you have the chance, after working so hard for it in recent years, you just have to go for it," concluded the Brit.
