Jos Verstappen: "Ten-second penalty is ridiculous"
- GPblog.com
Jos Verstappen has provided us with an update on the condition of Max Verstappen. The physical damage doesn't seem to be too bad at first sight, but still, a CT scan will be made. Furthermore, Jos states that it is incomprehensible that Lewis Hamilton gets such a low punishment.
"It does look good, but it was a big blow," said Verstappen Sr. in conversation with Ziggo Sport. "He felt a bit light-headed. He's going to the hospital now to have a CT scan, but he was fine. He has a bit of pain in his shoulder and he's a bit blue everywhere. It sucks."
The extra examination at the hospital will be mainly precautionary. At least the 23-year-old driver was sharp enough to briefly watch the replay of the incident. "I watched it back and Max also says: 'I gave him enough space and he drives with his front wheel against my back. Then you know you are wrong," according to Jos.
Verstappen on stewards
The former Formula 1 driver doesn't like the decision of the stewards to give Hamilton a ten-second penalty. "If you get a ten-second penalty, I think that's ridiculous. Especially in a corner like that, it's not acceptable."
