Rosberg hopes for press conference with Hamilton and Verstappen
- GPblog.com
Nico Rosberg had a hell of a rivalry with his teammate Lewis Hamilton for several years but managed to hit the Brit hard by winning a world championship at the expense of his teammate in 2016. The physical and mental struggle was so tough for Rosberg that he announced his retirement from driving in Formula One not long after.
Expert
As a hands-on expert, he knows better than anyone what it's like to be in the situation Max Verstappen is in right now. The German has to admit that it is more fun to watch from the outside than to actually experience it. Rosberg went deep to beat Hamilton, put in a year's worth of effort to make it happen, but is now enjoying the battle between his former teammate and the up-and-coming Dutchman.
To Sky Sports F1 he says of Verstappens' crash: "First and foremost, health is the most important thing, so it was important to see Max walkout, have his checks at the hospital and see that everything was OK. After that, it was just a great battle."
Press conference
Rosberg therefore can't wait for the race in Hungary and hopes the FIA are smart enough to plan the press conferences properly: "I'm personally excited now for the next race. How will the dynamics play out? Just the next press conference on Thursday!!! I wish the F1 will put them together. It's so cool."
