The weather forecast for the Hungarian GP: Rain and thunderstorms on the way?
- GPblog.com
The strategies for the Hungarian Grand Prix could well be scrapped, with rain and thunderstorms forecast for this afternoon.
Chance of rain and thunderstorms during the race
It will be a very warm day at the Hungaroring, with temperatures above thirty degrees. However, rain and thunderstorms are also on the way, and those showers could easily reach the circuit during the race.
The 24-hour forecast from Weerplaza.nl predicts thunderstorms between 14:00 and 16:00 UK time, which would mean that during the race it will break out. Should this be the case, tyre strategies would be compromised. In a wet race the teams will not have to comply with the tyre regulations as they may have to run on wet tyres.
At the moment it is already raining on the Hungaroring, where the Formula 3 race starts at 10:00 UK time. That promises to be an interesting race.
