Sebastian Vettel was disqualified late in the evening after the Hungarian Grand Prix, meaning he loses his second place. Aston Martin will not leave it at that and will appeal against the decision of the FIA.

Second place still stands, for now

At the end of each race there must be at least one litre of fuel left in the tank, but in Vettel's case the FIA only found 0.3 litres. This means that Vettel's car is declared illegal and disqualification is the only option.

Aston Martin however does not agree, which makes for an unusual situation: Vettel is still in second place in the official race results of the FIA. This will remain the case unless Aston Martin loses the appeal.
