Dutch GP to stay on calendar longer? 'It is up to the FOM'
- GPblog.com
The Dutch Grand Prix is received very well by national and international media. Few traffic jams, good accessibility and a great circuit for the viewer and the driver. Everything indicates that the organisation of the race can be proud of what they have achieved. Sporting director Jan Lammers also hears these sounds from the F1 paddock.
"I spoke to people from Formula 1 and television yesterday and they are also excited about what you can do in terms of TV direction. At times you think 'am I watching Indianapolis now and then it's Monaco again'," Lammers acknowledges in conversation with Motorsport.com.
FOM enthusiastic about Zandvoort
Zandvoort's contract with Formula One Management states that they will be on the calendar for three years, with an option for two additional years. According to the former F1 driver it's only a matter of time before the option in the contract is actually lifted.
"I don't have the decision-making power to say 'we're going to continue for two more years'. Whether I assume it or not is not very important, but I think the FOM does plan on it. They are very happy with us and they are making that known on all sides", Lammers concludes.
