Verstappen unsure about Monza: 'Don't know if we can fight them'

Max Verstappen hopes to win the Italian Grand Prix after two consecutive victories. However, the Dutchman will have to manage to keep Mercedes behind once again.
It was a great weekend for the Dutchman at Zandvoort, where Verstappen won in front of a sea of orange. At the FIA press conference, Verstappen said, "One of the best wins. It's always difficult to get over the emotions of the first win. Everyone expected me to win, so no win would be a disappointment. It was a great weekend, the amount of support I got was fantastic. It was an important race for motorsport in the Netherlands".
Whether Red Bull will be faster than Mercedes again in Monza, Verstappen is unsure. "I don't know if it will be enough to fight against them. We have done our homework and can be competitive. I don't expect it to be like Zandvoort."
Sprint qualifying at Monza
This weekend there is also another sprint qualifying session on the programme. Whether the Dutchman expects a lot of overtaking? "Not so sure. Last year we had a DRS train in the race. Hopefully we won't have to overtake too many cars."
Verstappen is also asked about his opinion on George Russell 's switch to Mercedes: "Everyone could see that one coming. It was the worst kept secret." The Dutchman also revealed his delight at the return of Alexander Albon to Williams.
