In 2022, there will be some rule changes in Formula 1 that could bring about big changes for teams and drivers. According to Fernando Alonso, his experience in the sport is not going to help that much, but it will be more about hard work.

The Alpine driver believes that performance is not the only thing that matters anymore, but that the work done during the winter and especially in the simulator in preparation for the test days will be crucial for the new season.

"I am convinced that it will depend more on the performance of our car and the work we do in the simulator and during the winter test days. If, after three or four races, we have all made the most of the car and the regulations are sufficient for a fair comparison, it will be the performance of the car that dictates the results, as is the case today. In terms of the adjustment, I don't think there will be a big difference,' the Spaniard told Autosprint.

Hard work will be important

So the 40-year-old driver admits that he assumes that not a lot will change. "It's just a matter of working hard, or even harder than any other winter because we will have to spend some more time in the simulator and together with the team," said the Alpine driver.
