The Turkish Grand Prix last season was a great spectacle. The drivers had to deal with little grip on the track, which Max Verstappen could not get everything out of his car and finished sixth. The Dutchman wants to do things differently this weekend.

Following last year, the teams are first of all wondering what the weather will be like this weekend. "If that's just normal, then I don't expect [even in the rain] any crazy things or anything," Verstappen stated in conversation with Motorsport.com. "Of course, unexpected things can always happen during the race, but we'll see that. You can't control those things now anyway, so you don't have to worry about that either."

Relationships between Mercedes and Red Bull

Last year the FIA allowed the Turkish GP to return after nine years. It is therefore unclear what the relationships between Mercedes and Red Bull Racing are at the circuit. While the Austrian racing team hopes it can dominate the track again, it can also not be ruled out that Mercedes will do well in Turkey.

"That's exactly why I think it's difficult to say who's going to be better here," the Red Bull driver commented. "We first have to wait and see how much grip there is on the track now. Otherwise it's another slide anyway."
