Binotto makes unusual choice: 'I'm planning to'

Mattia Binotto was not on the track during the Turkish Grand Prix. The Ferrari team boss let it be known beforehand that he wanted to continue working on the 2022 car in the factory. It is not the last race that Binotto will not be travelling with the team, he told Motorsport.com.
The Italian team could be very satisfied in Turkey. Where Carlos Sainz started the race from the back due to an engine change, he managed to drive in the points. With some impressive overtaking he managed to finish in eighth place. His teammate Charles Leclerc just missed out on a podium finish with a fourth place.
Binotto watched the race from a distance, as he did not come with us to Turkey. "This was always one of the races where I wanted to stay home," the team boss explains. "The calendar has changed a few times and so I changed my plans, but Turkey was definitely one of them."
Binotto fails to come more often
With six races to go, Ferrari are battling with McLaren for third place in the constructors' championship. However, Binotto will not always be present in the coming races either, he announced. "I plan to skip two more races before the end of the season. At the moment they are Mexico and Brazil."
