Charles Leclerc celebrates his birthday on Saturday. The 24-year old driver is in his fourth season in Formula 1 and is part of the Ferrari team for the third year. The Monegasque showed promising performances in the past. What can we expect from him in the future?

The Ferrari driver was on the track for every race for the first time in 2018. At Sauber, he impressed so much at the time that the Italian team decided to pick him up. It turned out to be a golden move on Ferrari's part, as immediately in his first year Leclerc captured his first two victories by crossing the line first in Belgium and Italy.

The victory in Belgium was not only emotional for Leclerc because of his first win in Formula 1. During the same weekend his good friend Anthoine Hubert in Formula 2 died in an accident, so Leclerc showed his peace of mind with his victory. The following weekend at the Italian Grand Prix, he took another victory, but that was all for now.

Difficult times for Ferrari

Leclerc's 2020 season was marked by a car that couldn't keep up with the big teams on the tracks, making it virtually impossible for him to compete at the front. However, this season has already seen some of his best. With a number of pole positions, Leclerc hoped to beat Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen, but as of yet he has been unsuccessful. However, there are still some interesting tracks for Ferrari to perform at during the upcoming races. It remains to be seen if the team will do so.
