Sainz demands of Ferrari: 'They must be of excellent level'

Carlos Sainz is not happy with the pitstops of his team. According to the Spaniard, too many mistakes are made during the pitstops of Ferrari and he loses a lot of time because of that.
Sainz unhappy with pit stops
Sainz is having a good first year as a Ferrari driver. The Spaniard has finished on the podium three times already in 2021 and has scored points in the last ten races. But Sainz thinks that point total could have been a lot more if his team made fewer mistakes on pit stops.
"We have to keep looking at it and improve as a team because we are not happy with the situation," Sainz opens according to the Dutch branch of Motorsport.com. "There have been a number of pit stops now where we had problems. This was the second consecutive time and the third time this season. We have lost a lot of points because of those little problems."
Points not so important yet
In Britain, Turkey and last race in the United States Sainz had problems with his pit stop. He himself thinks that with a good pit stop in Austin he could have finished at least two places higher. "I think we could have made the undercut on [Daniel] Ricciardo work quite easily, but it's no different," Sainz said.
"We have to keep working as a team to improve this. We left points out there. Those might not be so important this year, but if we want to compete for titles in the future all these things have to be of excellent level," Sainz concludes.
