Hamilton realistic about Verstappen: 'Our car is not better'

Lewis Hamilton has the pressure on his shoulders this weekend. The Briton must perform at the Mexico Grand Prix to keep up with Max Verstappen in the world championship, otherwise he will find himself at a bigger disadvantage. However, the driver himself does not know what is possible.
Red Bull Racing seemed to be the lesser team in recent races, but nothing was further from the truth. In the United States, Verstappen took the top spot, while Hamilton had to settle for second.
It still surprises the seven-time world champion that Red Bull manages to perform on Mercedes circuits this season. As a result, he is afraid to look ahead and express his expectations. "We thought we would be stronger in places like Austin. However, in the race they were stronger. So there is no reason to predict," Hamilton stressed in conversation with Motorsport.com.
Hamilton awaits big challenge
Hamilton therefore expects to have to work hard to beat Verstappen. "They will be fast. In 2019 they were almost half a second ahead of us, I think. Our car is not better than the one because of the changes. It will be interesting to see how the weekend develops."
