Lewis Hamilton picked up a ten-place grid penalty in the Turkish Grand Prix after changing his internal combustion engine. Mercedes hoped that this would be enough to complete the 2021 F1 season, but according to information from Rob Kamphues, this will not happen. In fact, another grid penalty of ten places is on the cards, according to the Ziggo Sport presenter.

"I hear from a very reliable source that Hamilton is going to announce tomorrow that he is going to replace another MGU-H and MGU-K yet," Kamphues said at the Formula 1 Café on Ziggo Sport.

Mexico the best time for penalty?

Based on the second free practice, Max Verstappen seems by far the biggest contender for the victory over the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez. Mercedes may already calculate this loss and hope for a catch-up game on Sunday. Anyway, if what Kamphues says is correct, it is in any case a loss for the Hamilton and Mercedes camp.
