Marko hopes for the sun: 'That provides a glimmer of hope'

Helmut Marko still sees Red Bull Racing as the favourite to win Sunday's Brazilian Grand Prix. Marko is disappointed with the qualifying but optimistic about the rest of the weekend at Interlagos.
Marko said earlier that there was more in it for Max Verstappen in Brazil. Verstappen lost four tenths to Lewis Hamilton, but the Dutchman drove no perfect lap according to Marko. Even with a perfect lap Verstappen was not able to match Hamilton's time and that difference is too big according to Marko.
Hope for Verstappen
Yet he also sees positive points after qualifying at the German Sky. ''The first starting row is actually very good, only the gap is something we are not happy with. But nothing is lost yet. If we cross the finish line like this tomorrow, then we'll start the race from first place. We couldn't have expected more,'' says Red Bull's advisor.
''Normally our race speed is better than in qualifying,' ' says Marko. Red Bull is usually better with a fuller tank, but Marko is also looking forward to the sun on Sunday. ''That provides a glimmer of hope that we can stay ahead of Hamilton with both cars.'' When Marko is asked if Red Bull are still the favourites for the race, he answers a resounding yes.
