Lewis Hamilton called the victory in Brazil hard fought. However, the Mercedes driver also enjoyed the duel with title rival Max Verstappen, in which the Briton eventually came out on top.
"It was one of the most fun races I've had in a long time," Hamilton said beaming at the microphone of Formula1.com. "I didn't know if I would be able to overtake both the Red Bulls. They worked well as a team."
Hard-fought win for Hamilton
Hamilton had to come from tenth place but went through the field like a warm knife through butter. "I thought by the time I even get there Max would be gone but he wasn't that far away," explained the Brit.
The battle between Hamilton and Verstappen had many people on the edge of their seats, but the Mercedes driver said this didn't bother him as much. "I was pretty chill. I was going to get him. My mindset was: 'I'm coming for you," he says, laughing. "And I did."
