Alpine F1 Team is making great strides in Formula 1. Esteban Ocon sees that the team has completely changed from the beginning of 2021. The team is more united than ever and huge progress has been made.
Alpine looks to finish fifth in Formula 1 for the third year in a row. The previous two years the team did so under the name of Renault. This year a new highlight was reached as Ocon won the Hungarian Grand Prix. In Qatar, the French team also scored well with Fernando Alonso's third place and Ocon's fifth place.
No room for negativity at Alpine
"[There has been] huge, huge progress," Ocon tells MotorsportWeek.com. "Definitely since the beginning of the year and since last year. I see a team completely transformed, a team united and we have great pressure from the bosses." At the end of last season, former team boss Cyril Abiteboul was forced out of the team and now Laurent Rossi, Davide Brivio and Luca de Meo are in joint control.
"There are such great vibes, there’s no negative stress inside the team and we are all pushing for the same direction," Ocon revealed. The Frenchman calls the working environment at Alpine perfect. Alpine sees 2021 as a transition year. In the long term, the team hopes to compete for regular victories and championships after the new rules come into effect in 2022.
