In 2022, the regulations that Formula 1 cars must comply with were completely changed. The goal was mainly to make it easier to follow other cars and thus ensure more overtaking. After four races with the new cars, that seems to have worked.

In conversation with Windsor, Sommerville discusses the new regulations. He was on the Brawn team that put together the new rules. After years of research, the result can now be seen on the track and the engineer is not disappointed. In fact, overtaking is improving, although it appears that not everything is perfect yet.
